Honda Accord has long become one of the most popular entries, in the American market mainstay: a mid-size, family-oriented sedan. While the competition has heated up to levels unprecedented in recent years, with the likes of smart, stylish Ford Fusion, ever-more-value loaded Hyundai Sonata, and even fresh new entries such as the Chrysler 200, the 2015 Accord carries over redesign years ago as a model that does not aim to be an outlier, rather slender, delicate, sophisticated models who do it all - with more value than we would expect from Honda in the past.

Honda adds some design flair and sophistication, in the redesign last year, which helped it compete with the likes of all new sheetmetal in the mid-size sedan segment. Although at the same time, the Accord has revived some, an elegant portrait Accords of the past - all with a few suggestions that underlie, in design, that Honda does not want to sacrifice large, comfortable extra goodness Accord for swoopy roofline.

The instrument panel is rather low, and the interior design is really pushing out the corners, at all imposing airiness that inside. Meanwhile, important controls are placed high enough in it. With coupe, you give some practicality to the performance of the display; they are generally the same as the sedan from the front seats forward, but completely different, wedgier tail and side sheetmetal adds up to a more dynamic stance.

Though the 2015 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid and Accord Hybrid models are covered in a separate review, they are the way to go for those who really want to minimize their fuel consumption. Instead, they have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine-saving, plus a lithium-ion battery and a two-motor hybrid system new can operate in three different modes, including a full-power operation. You sacrifice a small cargo space, but get an EPA rating of 50 mpg city.

As for the rest of the line models, powertrains are both powerful and more fuel-efficient than they were just a few years ago. With the base four-cylinder engine, you get direct injection technology, and you can choose from the six-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The CVT gives the feel of a much more linear than previous CVTs on the market, so it might even fool some into thinking the driver was a regular automatic transmission. Four makes 185 horsepower in most models, while the Accord Sport models makes 189 hp. A V-6 engine was still offered in the Accord model line; it makes 278 hp and coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission or (in coupe only) six-speed manual gearbox. Regular unleaded gasoline is fine no matter the engine, and fuel economy ratings range up to 27 mpg city, 36 highway with the four-cylinder engine and CVT, and up to 21/34 with the V-6.

2015 Honda Accord intelligent passenger comfort and space; with a somewhat smaller exterior, Honda has packed a lot more space inside, in every way possible. The driving position is good and upright, and for those in front or behind, abundant window space allowing a good view around. Rear legroom is enhanced with the redesign, while entry and exit is a strength; the only disappointment is that the function of the rear seats folded forward in a clumsy piece. Among all these models, we could do with a less confusing set of controls - especially the dual-screen infotainment system that you get in some trim. Coupe model is of course a little tighter in the back, with a slightly stiff ride; but they pack all the goodness sedan into a vehicle with a roof line that is much more sporty.
